A delegation from National Taiwan University (NTU), headed by Prof. Chun-Chieh WU, Dean of the College of Science (CS), Prof. Su-Ling YEH, Vice Dean, and Prof. Jiun-Huei Proty WU, Vice Dean, visited the Graduate School of Science (GSS) on June 7th. They met with Prof. Koichiro Tanaka, Dean of the GSS, Prof. Keiko Kuge, Vice Dean, Prof. Mitsuhiro Shishikura, Vice Dean, and 8 other faculties to discuss research collaboration between the two colleges.
NTU is one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan, comprising a total of 16 colleges (faculties and graduate schools), with over 35,000 students enrolled. Kyoto University have a longstanding relationship with NTU, with over 10 departments having signed interdepartmental agreements. In 2005, both universities signed an interuniversity academic and student agreement, and held consecutive university-wide symposiums in 2013 and 2014. In 2020, a strategic partnership was formed to deepen their collaboration in education and research.
During the visit, there was an active exchange of views, primarily led by Prof. Tanaka and Prof. WU, with the aim of promoting researcher and student exchanges in the field of science between the two universities. Both parties agreed to continue closely collaborating in order to finalize an interdepartmental academic exchange agreement by the end of the year.
